How to configure Avalanche on Metamask
PART I
$AVAX Setting Up Your Avalanche Wallet #AVAX
First step : Create an Avalanche wallet
Create an Avalanche Wallet on https://wallet.avax.network/ (save your private key) .
Second step : Get AVAX from an exchange (Binance, Huobi, Okex, etc..)
Third step : Transfer AVAX to your Avalanche Wallet
To transfer AVAX to your wallet, copy your X-Chain address in the upper right corner (the red box).
Be sure to select the correct chain, X-Chain (the blue box).
PART 2
Set Up MetaMask with Avalanche network
First step : Download Metamask here
Second step : Create a Wallet or Import an Existing Wallet
Third step : Connect to a Custom RPC
Click on the small arrow, and select Custom RPC.
Enter the following parameters into the respective fields :
- Network Name: Avalanche Network
- New RPC URL: https://api.avax.network/ext/bc/C/rpc
- ChainID: 0xa86a
- Symbol: AVAX
- Explorer: https://cchain.explorer.avax.network/
PART 3
Fund your Metamask with your Avalanche wallet
First step : Open your Avalanche wallet
Go to https://wallet.avax.network/ and access to your Avalanche wallet.
Second step : Cross-Chain
Once you are logged in, on the left side there is a list of categories. Click on “Cross-Chain”.
Third step : Send AVAX to your C-Chain adress
Select the “X Chain (Exchange)” as the source chain, select the “C Chain (Contract)” as the destination chain.
Enter the amount you would like to transfer, and then click on confirm.
If your transaction is stuck. Click on Advanced in “the categories”, on the left. Then click on IMPORT X or P or C depending on the destination of your transaction.
Fourth step : Send AVAX from your Avalanche wallet to your MetaMask wallet.
Select “Send”.
- Select “C Contract” as the Source Chain (the red box).
- Enter your MetaMask address by copying and pasting it into the “To Address” field on your Avalanche wallet (the blue box).
- Then confirm the transaction (the green box).
- You will receive your AVAX in a few seconds/minutes.
Congratulations! 🏅You now have AVAX on your MetaMask wallet and you can start using the Avalanche Network!!
